Wendy is very caring. She goes above and beyond to make sure my needs are met. I've not been for an appointment where there has been a receptionist present, which was quite confusing on my first visit.

Salome makes me feel my thoughts are valid and that it's okay to feel and think the way I do. The building and rooms themselves are very comforting and makes the building feel safe and makes me feel welcome.

Adrienne hands down is amazing. I have been around the block dozens of times with horrible therapists. Most want you drugged by another practitioner or just want money. No feedback no plan. NOT ADRIENNE. She will try various techniques until you find something that works. It takes time to figure out how to unravel trauma. More time to gain trust when you’ve been let down. This time. Was right! I was super hesitant to virtual. You don’t get the cues, non verbals people share. But that’s okay. If you want to just talk that’s okay. I do miss one on one. I felt more comfortable letting my guard down because I am really bad about masking. I’m a professional. I have to be. But some days I forget to take it off during virtual calls. But she will pick at you, ask deeper questions or make a separate remark that is supportive to the idea I’m giving off but. It’s a reminder for me. No I’m not fine. If I was fine I wouldn’t been a mess and depressed. Yes it’s faith based but, that is NOT imposed. Which I truly value. I believe that if you communicate kindly your needs your goals struggles, together a plan will form. I not only visit personally which is how I found this place but I also refer people professionally because I trust the care they’ll get. Like finding a good book, you have to keep looking. I have a 6 visit rule now. If by 6 visits I still feel REALLY uncomfortable then it isn’t a good match. Personalities could clash values could be imposed. I implore you to keep looking. Yes therapy is a Cinderella slipper, at least for me. I found a fit and I swear I’m have never been so thankful. I’m starting to thrive instead of survival mode 24/7. Triggers are more manageable. I still have issues and habits but those are goals. Every day is a new day to keep trying. I feel like I have that same idea reflected back. KEEP TRYING. That’s my experience. I’m 3 years in and I visit less but I’m also less triggered. Now that the seasons are changing I’m being proactive and preparing for seasonal depression and ways to fight back. Yes. For me it’s a battle. But, I’m grateful for the life changing impact Adrienne has had on my life and those who I interact with lives as well. It’s a ripple. I would not be where I am with out her support guidance and compassion. So if you need compassion and empathy. Adrienne. Call and set time aside.

Would be a 5 no problem is problems with whomever you use for a payment processing would have ran out payment like they were supposed to do. My husband got kicked to the curb after a payment got delayed because of it not being ran when it was supposed to be. Got told that he could no longer see a therapist and he has depression not smart for a therapist office. Now many years after not wanting to get help, and finally wanting to get help, you all have just made it even harder to get him help. Jeff gets a 5 star rating in our book though. He was really beging to help him. And your payment processing people screwed him. Maybe you guys should except cash!! Which is a legal form of payment by the way!! Or at very least money orders!! Obviously there are some people within your company that don't care about helping people. Your payment processing people may have just cost someone from getting help ever again, and quite possibly his life. You all might want to change payment companies before they cost you clients and money!!

We are so thankful for The Wellness Counseling Center, and their commitment to keep our daughter healthy, even in the midst of a lockdown! Shannon has always been accommodating to make sure the DD can keep her appointments, and have a safe, familiar face to talk to and work out whatever is on her heart. As I write, we are in the middle of the 2020 lockdown, and while the physical center is closed to prevent the unnecessary spread of the virus, Shannon has committed to having face to face meetings on a secure online network. Still protecting my child’s heart, and her private information. This is just one of the many reasons why we love Shannon, and the Wellness Counseling Center!

A friend from church referred me to Shannon. I was going through a difficult time in my life, she helped me work through areas that I wanted to improve on, which helped me gain my confidence back. When I had to move to KC I thought I would have to start over with another therapist, since it wasn’t feasible to drive to Harrisonville, thank God I could still keep my sessions with her through Telehealth. I’m now living my best life, Thank you Shannon!

When I first met Shannon it was in a different setting. I knew from the first day my family met her she was a positive influence to anyone and everyone. When I needed to have my daughter continue therapy but it needed to be closer to home, Shannon was my first thought. She is so caring, knowledgeable, understanding, and flexible. Even when I was having a rough day she would talk with me and put things into perspective for me. She is always willing to help anyone out. Her values, ethics, and true love for others is absolutely amazing. We love Shannon.

We are very happy with our experience with Shannon Hiser. She was able help our daughter understand her fears that stemmed from a pre-verbal trauma. Shannon was able to educate us on specific issues which gave us the tools to help our daughter at home. Our daughter looked forward to seeing Shannon for play therapy and we appreciated Shannon’s training in foster/adopted kids. Shannon was great at making us feel comfortable and did not judge us in areas that others have.

Shannon has been beyond amazing and wonderful for my daughter. Prior to bringing her to Shannon, I had seen such a change in my daughters demeanor, her happiness, and she had gotten to the point of being so stressed out and having such anxiety, it was affecting her physically due to an innate fear of going to her dads and changes in him since divorce. So not only was my daughter trying to process divorce, other factors had also come into play and she was really not able to comprehend, process, or understand how she can handle and/what actions she could take. I cannot praise or even put into words how much Shannon’s expertise, guidance, and ability to really listen and understand has impacted my daughter. Honestly, she was and continues to be a Godsend for her. Shannon takes the time to really understand and develop a relationship w My daughter and I am sure all her patients that makes my daughter feel special. She goes above and beyond to not only teach my daughter that shshe has the voice, but has always stepped in to be her voice when there were things going on of concern. She is professional, yet her compassion and motivation to treat everyone she sees as if they are the only ones, is remarkable. I really cannot say enough and I would recommend her 1000x over to anyone looking for services. I really don’t know how my daughter would be right now off Shannon hadn’t been there.

I have seen Shannon now going on 5 years. She has helped me in so many ways. She has helped individually and as a family. I literally put my life in her hands and came out for the better. She helped with my PTSD as well. I came to her with so many issues not knowing if I could be helped. She was kind, helpful, and very patient with me. I don’t trust easy and she made it very easy to trust her. She helped me with parenting, anger management, individual, PTSD,OCD, and family therapy. I have a mental illness that she helped diagnosed that other doctors misdiagnosed. Helped me get on the right medication and to this day I am doing so much better. If not for Shannon Hiser I don’t know where I would be today. I thank God for putting her in my life everyday. We need more therapists like her. She also helps my son with his issues and I see a big difference in him since going to her.

Shannon has been an absolute godsend for my son and for our family in general, begining with grief counseling after the losses of multiple family members in a very short period of time, some being very tragic. Shannon’s services continued through to my son’s diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome, obsessive compulsive disorder and sever anxiety / separation disorder. She was very open and communicative with us as well as joining me in meetings with the school in order to help to better and properly educate them on my son’s struggles in explaining the difference between a neuralogical disorder vs what they were treating as a behavioral issue. Shannon is the only counselor that my son fully trusted and opened up to. Shes been a wonderful support system for our family and I can’t possibly imagine what we would have ever done without her there with us during those difficult times. We are beyond greatful and feel very blessed to have her on our lives!
