A Note From Nicholle

Nicholle Scheibe is a graduate student at the University of Central Missouri pursuing a degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has also earned her Bachelor’s degree from UCM in Child and Family Development. Before beginning her schooling to become a therapist, she had professional roles as a nanny, a recovery coach working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, and as a Match Support Specialist working at Big Brothers Big Sisters. She has enjoyed each of these roles as she was able to get to know people of all ages and backgrounds and support them in the ways her positions allowed her to.

I am excited to be starting my clinical internship with The Wellness Counseling Center! I look forward to continuing to work with people of a variety of ages and backgrounds. From children to adults, I really enjoy connecting with people and listening to their stories. As I enter this new role as a clinical intern, I am hoping to work with children and incorporate play into sessions, and to work with couples and families who may be experiencing communication and relational problems. My therapeutic model is still developing, but I naturally gravitate towards experiential and structural views, always with an underlying systemic and family perspective.
In her personal time, she can be found at home with her dog, Boston, spending time with her family and fiancé, and watching Bob’s Burgers.
